Incrediwear Equine is based on a highly successful and tested Incrediwear Human range. The unique Incrediwear technology integrates semiconductor elements Germanium & Carbon within the fabric, which, when activated by body heat, emit infrared waves. These waves cause cellular vibration through energy transfer to intracellular water, activating molecular vibrations that increase not only blood circulation but also lymphatic flow. Increasing blood flow and speed and lymphatic drainage helps bring more oxygen and nutrients to the target area and clear out all the by-products. Thus, optimizing the body’s natural healing process and accelerating recovery.
There is a reason for slogan “Tested on Humans, Approved by Horses”. Incrediwear is constantly working on Studies and proving that Incrediwear technology is a turning point in healthcare, post-surgery recovery, night recovery and painless life. Studies like Pain reduction on Osteoarthritis patients, accelerated recovery after MLS injuries, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), reduced growing pain on kids and more, conducted by world’s leading institutions like USC, Southern California Orthopedic Institute, K2 Science, Mansfield Orthopaedics.
Personally, having used the Incrediwear human range myself post-surgery, I could feel the results. Horses cannot tell us where or how much pain they are in, or what helps them feel better. We cannot always visibly see the effect of therapy type products especially pain reduction. However, being able to use the same technology on a horse, I can be confident that the product has the capacity to decrease pain and have other positive results as these cellular processes are similar in equines and humans.

How does Incrediwear technology work
Incrediwear technology (both Human and Equine) is based on negative ions. Incrediwear fabric is embedded with semi-conductors Germanium and Carbon. When fabric touches the skin and is activated by the body heat, negative ions are released. Negative ions vibrate the cells, increasing blood flow and lymphatic drainage, pushing swelling into lymphatic system and bringing more oxygen and nutrients to the area. Due to properties of semi-conductors Germanium and Carbon, Incrediwear always cools down and doesn’t allow wrapped area to heat up. -
How do the negative ions work?
Carbon and Germanium oxide has one available electron in the outer shell molecule. When combined with a temperature of at least 20 degrees celsius, molecule becomes activated, releasing midlevel* (reference to study) infrared optical wave, which creates micro oscillation of the tissue. This increased energy and motion results in movement of interstitial and intramuscular and intra-articular swelling or edema.
Or in other words:
Incrediwear technology works just like an earthquake on the bottom of the ocean. It vibrates and creates a tsunami wave that never stops. Negative ions work in a same way - vibrating the cells and never stopping while Incrediwear product is on. Increased blood circulation is a result of negative ions, not a compression.
-
How does vibrating the cells increase blood flow and lymphatic drainage?
Blood vessels are tubular. Just like during an exercise muscle contractions create energy that increases blood flow, so does the Incrediwear - it mimics the contractions and increases blood flow. There are two processes going on, when Incrediwear is on:
1. Most important - it eliminates the swelling by vibrating the tissue where the swelling is located - this can be interstitial (inside tissues), intramuscular (in the muscle) or intra-articular (in the joint). As a result - swelling is pushed into the lymphatic system, which is unique property of Incrediwear technology.
2. Secondary process is vibrating the blood vessels, creating increased blood flow and speed, to bring more oxygen, nutrients and macrophage to the damaged areas. It also thermoregulates the tissue, keeping tissue temperature down. This is an essential benefit, since recent studies show that increased tissue temperature can cause tissue damage.
-
Why Incrediwear technology is NOT like compression?
Compression is based on squeezing the blood vessels. As a result - lymphatic drainage is slowed down. Compression actually stops vibration of the tissue and movement of the fluids. Which in some particular cases can be beneficial (during short active workout), but if used at rest or too frequent, can cause tissue damage.
This is why compression can't be worn for extended periods of time, while Incrediwear and Incrediwear Equine products can be worn for long periods, including night-time and even 24/7, if necessary.
-
How does Incrediwear reduce swelling?
Incrediwear eliminates the swelling by vibrating the tissue where the swelling is located - this can be interstitial (inside tissues), intramuscular (in the muscle) or intra-articular (in the joint). As a result - swelling is pushed into the lymphatic system, which is unique property of Incrediwear technology.
-
Why Incrediwear is called world’s first wearble anti-inflammatory and pain relief ?
Since Incrediwear Equine increases blood circulation, brings oxygen and nutrients to the injured areas and pushes all the swelling and by-products into lymphatic system, it acts as anti-inflammatory. When you take away inflammation you take away a prostaglandins (pain causing chemicals) and cytokines, which results in reduced pain. -
How does Incrediwear differ from other alternative technology
Incrediwear technology has list of unique benefits:
- increasing not only blood flow, but lymphatic drainage as well;
- Incrediwear is non-invasive technology and doesn’t cause negative side-effects;
- cooling effect when wet;
- being world’s only wearable anti-inflammatory;
- being safe for night-recovery;
- having list of studies being conducted and released;
And foremost - Incrediwear is tested on humans and approved by horses.
Like Scientific research? Incrediwear has that too!
Incrediwear fabric has been shown to aide in pain relief of human patients with Osteo-arthritis (Effect of Germanium-Embedded Knee Sleeve on Osteoarthritis of the Knee - Katherine Marino, Rachel Lee, Paul Lee, 2019 (sagepub.com)), and recently have been shown to help cartilage regeneration in vitro. Application to Horses
Now we know the unique technology behind how Incrediwear works - what are the benefits for our horses and when should we use it?
- Your horse does not need to have a "problem" to benefit from Incrediwear. Using the exercise bandages consistently during work or post-work for recovery can keep the legs of the horse fresh, tight, and less fatigued. We know that risk of injury increases with fatigue, so this is actually quite important! Incrediwear also aides in thermoregulation- overheating the legs can cause damage to tissue, so using a product to deter heat accumulation in the tissue is key. The ability to use water on Incrediwear exercise bandages and hoof socks post-exercise or for therapy provides a deep-tissue cooling effect. If you don't believe me- try it on yourself! Soak the incrediwear product in warm/hot water and put it on yourself. You will feel cold underneath the product! Water acts similar to a catalyst on the ion-embedded fabric to amplify the normal effects.
- The same applies to the Standing Wraps - even if your horse does not have a problem, using the Incrediwear standing wraps overnight if your horse is stabled, and during transport, keeps the circulation running through the limbs. Horses are not meant to be stationary for long periods of time and thus can stock up and lose strength easily. Top equestrians are using Incrediwear on long transport trips and even flights to the Olympics!
- Incrediwear Hoof Socks can target often hard to treat areas such as the fetlock to the hoof, knees, and hocks. These can be used in combination with standing wraps to extend the area of effectiveness. Once again, they can be used everyday to keep these areas less prone to fatigue or arthritis. Or for horses that already have these conditions, can ease pain, and perhaps even aide in some recovery. As discussed, we may not be able to physcially see these effects, but hopefully you may be able to notice a difference in the comfort or range of motion of your horses that do have some type of pain or injury. Hoof Socks have also been found to help in laminitic horses to aide in increased circulation to the hoof.
- If your horse does have an ailment such as arthritis or an injury, veterinary advice should absolutely be followed. Incorporating Incrediwear into an everyday work or recovery routine is well worth discussing. As mentioned above, in human studies Incrediwear has proven results to lower pain in low-grade human osteo-arthritis and increase speed of athlete injury recovery (and decrease injury frequency).
- For horses with injuries that require stable rest, Incrediwear is a great option to aide in recovery, keep the legs well circulated, and decrease limb swelling while confined. Incrediwear can be worn 24/7, unlike many compression based wraps.
- Incrediwear can aide in the recovery and healing of tendon injuries, both during the rest period with Standing Wraps and if the horse is coming back into work, the exercise bandages are a great option.
- Incrediwear is not recommended to be used over open or new wounds but can be used on areas of older wounds to aide in reduction of scar tissue or swelling. Using water soaked exercise wraps for intense one-hour therapy over these types of areas have been found effective by myself and clients.
